This set of illustrations was from the company I worked with during the time of their rebranding transition. GasBuddy is a tech company based in Boston, (originally from Saskatchewan Canada) that operates apps and websites based on finding real-time fuel prices at more than 140,000 gas stations in the United States and Canada. They also sell software products to convenience store owners via their B2B initiatives.

MOBILE APP CHALLENGE BADGES

A series of app challenges badges from the previous branding colors with the very last row having the rebranded style. I was given a list of the challenge names and how the users can achieve them. It’s GasBuddy’s way to game-ify reporting of gas prices. They get additional points for earning the badges and can share them on socials as well.


INFOGRAPHICS

Here are samples of many infographics I got to work on. From simple to more complex data points. The challenge with infographics is to simplify insights into easily digestible pieces of content. The role of my graphics is to make it look exciting and interesting to read.


BRANDED ARTWORK

In situations that require particular graphics that are not available on stock sites. It’s worth the time to create the illustration instead of wasting time looking for the one that matches your brand and style of art.

Process

Most of the time I am sent Powerpoint slides or Google slides with the brief of the project. I do some research about the topic and look at published deliverables online for inspiration. My favourite sites to look at are Dribbble, Behance, and Pinterest. There are times I still resort to pencil sketches and times I am handed post it sketches as well.
